    • items that lack the usual identification numbers.

Additionally, some manufacturers provide detailed information about their products so customers can easily distinguish fake from genuine parts.

  • Technical documents often include misspellings and awkward phrasing. Most fakes are made by foreign entities, which are often unfamiliar with the particularities of American English. Some components may as well have labels that list countries other than the ones where the parts are typically made.
